Dress up

As promised, here is the dress I wore at my brother's wedding. My Mom made it! I've always wanted a one sholder dress! Isn't it fabulous...

I finally had some time to play with the pictures in Picasa this morning. I'm ready for my daily walk on Clearwater Beach. The kids are enjoying our vacation and I'm loving it too!

Extra Hugs

I got extra hugs from my baby today. He was so happy with his birthday party yesterday! The party was indoors since it rained all day! *sigh*. But that didn't stop the boys. Oh yes, boys will be boys. My baby is turning 7!

So I'm off for a couple of weeks and I have so many plans. I started off today doing nothing! Just enjoying my coffee outside....It's a perfect day, I got extra hugs from my baby boy! Tomorrow is another day right?

P.S. Daniel is feeling much better. He finally removed his Sponge Bob Square Pants bandaid.

I wasn't sure how to start today's blog post and then realized I had lots of ups and downs ths week.

1. I won Flax and Spindle's giveaway! I love it! Please check out Darlene's blog and etsy site. Very beautiful. Thanks Darlene for making my week!

2. I got some fabulous bling over at Theresa's Unfinished Business etsy shop. Check her out! I had a nice conversation with her about my week. She had reserved it for me and called me "someone special". I needed that, check out, next point.

3. My little boy didn't notice the wall last Tuesday and banged his head. Well you know what happened, blood everywhere, Miss Tanya panicked and they both screamed so loud! Eek, I can't even thing about it. Anyhow, TG for my hubbie, he drove Daniel to the ER. (I got dizzy), stayed home and did laundry, cleaned the house, couldn't sleep. They were in the ER for at least 4hrs which at that point was past 1am. To make a long story short, a nurse cleaned him up but the ER was so busy that he wasn't able to see the Dr. that night. The next day I found a clinic nearby and didn't need to wait. The young girl behind the counter probably noticed how tired I looked. The Dr. saw Daniel right away and confirmed that no stitches were needed. Oh, he's so cute with his Spoonge Bob Square pants band aid. :-)

4. Daniel's 7th birthday party is tomorrow. 10 friends are coming over....The theme is Soccer! Yep, 10 boys playing soccer in our backyard! Pizza, pizza!

5. I'm on vacation for 2 weeks, Yay! No emails, no meetings. Just family, friends and my flip flops!

6. Check out the great giveaway at Vintage Bella Studio. Check out her shop too, I want to buy everything.

Lovely in Lace

Today's the day! My baby brother is getting married. I took the day off yesterday and both Miss Tanya and I went for a manicure and pedicure. We had so much fun!

I'm off to get my hair done and makeup too!

Directions for the lace flower pictured above:

1 Fold a round doily in half, then roll it to form a cone.

Crocheted versions yield the best results.

2 With an elastic band, secure its base.

3 Fold, then roll a second round doily around the first, again securing with an elastic band.

4 Embellish the bloom with millinery leaves, slipping the stem into the elastic band.

5 Use as a corsage or a gift topper.

Can you believe it's the middle of June? So much to do!

1. Organize Daniel's 7th birthday party on June 27th.
2. Plan and organize a Surprise Bridal Shower in July.
3. Bake dessert for our Circle of Friends bookclub meeting! I can't decide what to bake! Help! eek (next week)
4. And of course, clean up my craft studio (It's always on my list).

Okay, I guess I should get moving...

Life's a Beach!

It's funny how just thinking of the beach calms you down. Unfortunately I live in a city and not by the sea.

This weekend I need to catch up on too much around the house but I'll be dreaming of the sound of rainfall, a wood fire flickering, the glow of candles, waves lapping on the shoreline, birds singing, the sound of the breeze.
