The weekend was busy as usual but I did take some time to spend some to meet up with my girlfriends on Friday night.  Ah, therapy!  We're planning a girlfriend getaway in March, Yay!

Tartelette

These are perfect, I love macarons.  Tartelette is one of those blogs you go back to and stay all day.  These macarons are the perfect Valentine's day gift don't you think?

I took time to relax yesterday since I had a headache (more like a migrane), sigh!  So this morning I woke up and realized that the house is a mess and I have a 2 day course to attend.  Ah yes, the joy of a working Mom working in the corporate world.  

So for me this is my therapy, visiting my blog friends and reading comments.  Can't wait to be back from a long day, visiting my friends while drinking my coffee...

Weekend

What a fabulous idea!  Check out these Hot Chocolates on a stick at Giver's Log.  They are perfect after a nice Valentine's dinner (near the fireplace of course).  We're off running around all day today, including running to the arena to watch Daniel's game and a surprise 40th birthday party tonight.

The weather is COLD today, it's -22F or -30C with the wind....I need a vacation!  I updated my facebook status as follows:  Angie is going to bury herself beneath the duvet and hibernate until the warmer weather returns. For an urgent response apply sun, sea and sambuca until defrosted!  Lol....

I'm obsessed!  I'm Mad about Mad Men.  Have you watched it yet?   Can't wait to watch Mad Men 3 this weekend.  I love everything about the 60's, the red lipstick, cocktail hour, and the dresses, so chic.

So it was back to school and work this week and honestly, I kept wishing for Friday!  So here we are Friday, and tonight I'm making pizza and catching up on laundry.

Happy New Year everyone!  Wishing you Peace, Love and Happiness. 

I am hosting tomorrow so I'm prepping today for the first day of the year.  I'll be making Lentil soup, it's our Italian tradition for Good Luck in the new year.

Lentil Stew

Ingredients:

2 cups dried lentils
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 carrots diced
2 celery stalks, diced
1 garlic clove, peeled and halved
4 oz pancetta, diced
4 cups of chicken or vegetable stock
2 springs thyme or 1 tsp dried
2 bay leaves
pinch dried savory
1/4 tsp sald and pepper
1/2 cup flat leaf parsley

Place lentisl in a pan filled with water and bring to a boil.  Drain immediately and rince, set aside.
In a saucepan, add olive oil, cook onion, carrots and celery about 10 min.
Add garlic and pancetta, cook for 2 min more
Add stock, herbs, salt and pepper and lentils.  Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer for about 30 min.  Add parsley and mix thoroughly.
