Bloom

Picture and project from http://www.countryliving.com/

Feeling much better, thanks for all your emails. I guess it was a sign telling me to slow down.

I decided to take today off from work and make it an extra long weekend. Monday is a Canadian Holiday (Victoria Day).

I'm planning to clean up my closets and plant my herb garden. I also plan to sneak in my craft room and make some of these flowers.

Have you seen this great project from Country Living?

Sewing Pattern Flowers

An elementary school craft takes on a sophisticated edge when fashioned from the tissue-thin paper of old sewing patterns.

Step 1: For each flower, cut six 7-inch squares from the pattern. Stack and fold them accordion-style six times, forming a one-by seven-inch rectangle. Snip off the corners of the rectangle with scissors.
Step 2: Tightly twist a wire floral stem around the center of the rectangle.
Step 3: Fan out the paper, then pull apart each layer, creating the blossom.

Enjoy your weekend!

It seem's we all have to take that break every now and then. Life can get so overloaded! I am loving that you have a "Victoria
Day"! I want to be there and be happy that my name is Victoria...I could have another day to celebrate like my b-day! lol. Have a great weekend!

Hugs to you!

I love these flowers too. I've been collecting vintage sewing patterns and that's one of the projects I plan to do as well.
