Contemporary Farmhouse style

Hello my friends, as you know, I love entertaining guests.  Grab your coffee, meet my guest Mari from Design Shuffle

Hello everyone! I'm Mari and I write for Design Shuffle, a terrific social networking site for interior designers, architects, design professionals and enthusiasts to upload their work and receive lots of exposure. I love my work because I get to explore the beautiful world of interior design every day and write about it, along with the great decorating ideas I discover.

Today's guest post here at Casa Mia is about contemporary farmhouse style. Growing in popularity, this updated country look merges our beloved farmhouse with new and exciting contemporary design. The result is the best of both worlds, seen in traditional farmhouses, suburban country homes and city lofts and townhouses around the globe.

Nothing says farmhouse more than barn doors, but these blue masterpieces in Sharon and Ozzie Osborne's home are a unique take on that design statement. This room has a traditional look with a lovely contemporary twist.

What can we say about this compelling minimalist approach to a contemporary farmhouse bedroom design? A variety of wood treatments in amazing patterns makes decorative accessories and art unnecessary. A beautifully handcrafted and totally unique space.

Merging old and new stunningly, the ultra modern master bath in a British barn conversion shows off a quintessential farmhouse bathtub, the roll top claw foot tub. One of the best bathroom design ideas ever.

A renovated 1920s farmhouse has emerged as a perfect mix of farmhouse and contemporary. Taken from a multitude of expected small, dark spaces to an open and airy dream home, this Rhode Island home is the best of both styles.

This kitchen has many very traditional farmhouse elements, but it definitely doesn't take itself seriously. Who could have seen those contemporary bar stools coming? Totally whimsical and unexpected.

A contemporary home goes farmhouse with American antiques, folk art and a touch of industrial. What a perfect mix—sofas with clean straight lines and pure white slipcovers, Native American rug and antique decorative objects.
